Dr. Drum - Just Another Beatmaker?

If you are into music or like to go clubbing, you maybe ask yourself how all these cool beats and tracks are created. Luckily, you don't need a full-sized studio to arrange songs with all kinds of instruments and samples today. Beatmakers are sequencers that let you arrange drum-patterns, bass-lines and different instruments like keys, strings or effects on your computer. Now just another beatmaker enters the market - Dr. Drum. While being pretty new, it gathered quite some attention in the music world and on the internet. So what can this fresh beatmaker offer?

1. Samples

Dr. Drum comes packed with high-quality stereo samples of different drum kits and all sorts of instruments. The samples are all mastered pretty well, and the amount is just impressive. If all these samples are not enough for you, you can import your own drum kits and custom samples. While the drum sets are perfectly mastered, they are completely editable for special purposes or to give you the maximum freedom in the beat-making process. All drum kits come with 12 independent pads which can be edited individually.

2. Usability

While great samples are a must in today's music industry, many beatmakers or digital audio studios are too complicated for beginners. If you just want to create your own beats, a full DAW or digital audio workstation will most likely be too sophisticated for you. The learning curve is quite steep and besides that, professional software is incredible expensive. At least at the moment, Dr. Drum is very cheap and easy to use while the sound quality is unbelievable high.

If you want to record your own instruments or need an array of effects, equalizers and professional tools, Dr Drum is not the right choice for you. It is a tool to make beats with samples, so you are not able to record your own instruments with it.

As you can see there is a new, simple but great-sounding beatmaker on the market. If you are a beginner in making your own beats and need a nice tool to help you with your first steps, it really can be a good start. Don't let the low price fool you. The sound quality is really awesome, and the interface is as intuitive as it gets You won't find this simplicity in a professional DAW.
